The focus is on intonation and bowing, and also on integration with the piano part. Musical phrasing and expressive interpretation are left for the student to explore outside of this context.
Instructions for slower-tempo videos:
Play along with the excerpt until it becomes comfortable. Listen closely to match the intonation, and watch closely to match the bowing.
On your own, gradually increase the metronome tempo a notch or two at a time, making sure each new tempo can be played comfortably.
Each day, start with a slower tempo and then gradually increase the tempo. Set a reasonable goal! (Ask your teacher for advice)
